Our Brain is a powerful tool. But remember it is only a tool and not US. Consciousness and Subconsciousness are both parts of our brain. One is governed by our mind and others by the infinite intelligence or soul.
What is Conscious Mind?
“The state of being aware of and responsive to one’s surroundings.”
“A person’s awareness or perception of something.”
“The fact of awareness by the mind of itself and the world.”The Oxford Living Dictionary
In a state of consciousness, one can think, have thought. When you have the ability to interpret a certain situation and examine it and eventually judge it as good or bad on the basis of your evaluation is all part of your conscious brain. The conscious brain is smart and ever alert.
It is the adult in your head. It is ever scared and prepares you for any future harm that you might encounter. It tries to form an illusive protective shield of thought or rather predictions and prepares you mentally for any dance you may or may not encounter. It is your guardian.
But there are drawbacks of this conscious brain. It gets so busy in building these stories that “what if…”, that it begins to suck the life out of your life.
In other words, you begin to live in a “psychological time” rather than enjoying the present moment.
The conscious brain likes to know it all. It likes to predict and be prepared for better or worse. The conscious mind thus begins to knit the web of stories that begin to play in your mind.
It sometimes begins to build a future, it may be positive or negative. Or, it takes you skinny dipping in the pool of past memories, may it be positive or negative.
This is called living in the “Phycological past or future”.
While you are enjoying or pondering over these memories or thoughts, what is you is the very present moment.
Although these thoughts are not in vain! They determine the frequency your body vibrates at!
But if you give power to your conscious mind to run rogue into the memories and future worries, it will be responsible for your vibrations, happy or sad.
The thoughts that your conscious mind springs, are nothing but tiny seeds that are being planted into the nourishing bed of the Subconscious mind.Which brings us to the next section of this post!
What is the Subconscious Mind?
“The part of your mind that contains feelings that you are not aware of.”The Oxford Living Dictionary
The subconscious mind is a data-bank for everything, which is not in your conscious mind. It stores your beliefs, your previous experience, your memories, your skills.
Everything that you have seen, done, or thought about is also there. Your subconscious mind is an autopilot program programmed from your very birth. It takes over your bodily functions and runs the programs that we call ‘habits’ to play out our lives smoothly.
Have you ever dialed a phone number when you didn’t have to remember the number but your fingers simply knew where to touch to dial it? Or when you use the keyboard, how your finger already know where to press for a certain alphabet?
All this is stored in the subconscious mind.
We have programmed it to make our lives easy. But what happens when we have a negative stream of thoughts flowing through the conscious mind?
Even THOSE thoughts get implanted in our subconscious mind and fiddles with our positive frequency.
The default tendency of the subconscious mind is towards positive life-giving energy.
When we begin to think negatively, feels such as fear and anger are manifested in our system. As there is a shift in our vibrations, we begin to attract situations and objects of a similar frequency in our lives.
Our subconscious mind is the one that really governs our life experience. But it is as naive as a child. It will accept any kind of thought without judgment.
It fails the capacity to evaluate what is good and what is bad.
The default setting might be life-giving but our thoughts are like instructions for our subconscious mind. And instructions certainly hold a higher priority than the default settings.
Hence a person with negative thoughts might always be seen stuck in negative situations and living in vain, but a person with a positive stream of thought might be seen making the best out of the worst situations.
This is where comes Power Of Positive Thinking which enables us to build communication between the conscious and the subconscious mind.
When the two of them work in harmony, life shows you the wonders it is capable of. It gives you a chance to have it all you dream of!
